Having the ability to be used as a seedbox (250go HDD), the Freebox V6 is the most
advanced ISP box available in France. Couple that with an FTP and Newsgroup client, and
you have a powerful content-accessing machine in your hands.
How to Setup Freebox VPN:
You can make the most of your ISP box with PureVPN. Learn how you can configure PureVPN on
your Freebox using the PPTP or OpenVPN protocol.
Freebox (PPTP)
Please note that this tutorial is based on Freebox OS 2.1.
1 Connect to https://mafreebox.free.fr from the local network (Wifi, CPL or Ethernet) or from an
external network
2 Enter password
3 Click “Parametres de la Freebox” in the user interface.

Description can be anything you want such as PureVPN PPTP.
Type de serveur VPN (VPN server type): Choose “PPTP” from the drop-down menu
Nom d’hôte (Hostname):Enter your Gateway (PPTP
server) (Example: uk.purevpn.net). Click here to get the complete server list.
Nom d’utilisateur (Username): Please type your PureVPN username here.
Mot de passe (Password): Please type your PureVPN password here.
Mode de chiffrement (Encryption mode): Choose 128 bits and check “MS-CHAPv2”

To establish an OpenVPN connection, please click this link and download the VPN configuration
files:
To configure the OpenVPN connection, please unzip openvpn files first.
Description: As per your choice e.g. “PureVPN OpenVPN”

Fichier de configuration (Configuration File): Click on “Parcourir” and browse for the VPN
config.zip file you downloaded and unzipped earlier. Choose either UDP or TCP files and select a
server file that you wish to connect to.
To check whether the connection has established or not, go to the “Etat de la connexion VPN” tab,
to verify.
